Hana on Intelligent Design
Being intelligent on ID is not a simple process, but she handles it quite well. Squabbles over terms and disregarding evidence is a habit that Creationists fail to realize (or neglect on purpose). Arguing over fallacies used in arguments is a tactic that we logic and reason driven people have in our arsenal. I recently stepped through many fallacies that another creationist used in order to support their case.Ben Steins position - evolution is JUST a theory and is not a fact - is flawed in that he implies that just giving up our quest for knowledge and understanding and placing the stamp that god was the ultimate cause leads to the only conclusion. As we saw in a previous video, the man is off his gourd. He spouts off about intellectual dishonesty, but doesn’t realize/accept that he has committed the most disingenuous crime of any scientist - Fraud.

Death by black hole - Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Writing in centuries past, many scientists felt compelled to wax poetic about cosmic mysteries and God’s handiwork. Perhaps one should not be surprised at this: most scientists back then, as well as many scientists today, identify themselves as spiritually devout.
But be careful reading of older texts, particularly those concerned with the universe itself, shows that the authors invoke divinity only when they reach the boundaries of their understanding. They appeal to a higher power only when staring into the ocean of their ignorance. They call on God only from the lonely and precarious edge of incomprehension. Where they feel certain about their explanations, however, God gets hardly a mention.
This excerpt, from Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s book, highlights the sort of witty undertone and intelligent discourse that you should expect from no one other than someone I idolize. His choice of words throughout the book gave me a perpetual state of amazement that continues to wash over me. He covers topics ranging from temperature and how few people actually understand it, to the moon, Saturn and the stars to topics on the study of nature and does it all without conveying any need to be a theoretical physicist to understand any of it.
Above all else I recommend this book on the grounds that while it’s a fascinating read, it is also a very good read. I got through it in about a week and had time to spare to make sure that I did not miss out in class. If you enjoy learning and you find science to be one of the persuasive topics, I suggest you give this one a try.

The Cosmic Perspective - Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Of all the amazing things that I have read over the years, Neil DeGrasse Tyson always leaves me in awe and full of inspiration for the future of human kind, as well as time itself. His words are insightful, and interesting, while still flavored with just a hint of down home and humble humility. In this article he writes about his perspective on the cosmos. He argues that our issues we face now are seemingly trivial in relation to what could be going on in the cosmos, supporting his thoughts with many different facets of the diamond of life that we can all relate to. If you have ever felt like you had nothing to live for or reached a point in time when you were in need of some truly motivational words from someone who didn’t claim to have something to do with god… Neil is most definitely the man for you.

Dillism - The pursuit of happiness
the truth remains quite a disparity; there are still only two types of people in the world. Those who do and those who don’t; those who read and those who apparently don’t know they can’t because they haven’t yet realized it… I am frightened to hear that there are yet more and more of these dualities coming to light and none of them really make for much healthy discourse. Many of these are opinions on many “political” issues such as freedom of speech or religion.
