Three things I hate about the opposite sex… part deux
It is with great pleasure and pain that I bring you the next installment of three things I hate about the opposite sex. I invite those of you who are interested in the satirical and yet quite truthful journey through my views of the women of the world to please grab your pale and lightsabers and try to keep up!
The “Well my ex” syndrome
Quite possibly the most irritating thing to ever experience in life, being compared to a persons ex is a formula for disaster. As a human being I find it very difficult to avoid comparing people, especially ones that I am very close to, but let’s get real. No one likes to be compared to anyone of lower social status than they are, and regardless of your perspective, an ex boyfriend is certainly below the guy you are with.

Congratulations to any of you guys who are able to joke with your girlfriends and wives about having sex with their mothers. That is the supreme joke, assuming you keep it a joke.

Spreading myself thin
Taking on too much is always a problem with myself. I find that I am often unable to realize how deeply invested I am in the various projects I pick up along the way. School and work are two of the most powerful time saps in my life, but I rarely feel the challenge from either of those. I find myself looking for challenge in picking up and accepting projects from the world around me. The pattern repeats itself – I feel unchallenged, I pick up a project, pick up another and another and another and so forth until I have myself so deeply submerged into the added responsibilities that I eventually burn out and give up on everything.I am currently working at about 60% of my ability, and I’ve been ignoring my tasks for long enough. I have to spend a few minutes organizing myself and getting the projects I have been working on over the last year or so, and id like to bring you with me.

Ned and his anal beads
While i usually tend to stay as far away from topics of this type, i really couldn’t refrain from getting this one to you all as soon as possible. This is one of the funniest prank calls I have heard in a long time. I have to agree that this is a topic that is controversial and is certainly not something to be taken lightly. Its amazing to me that this sort of thing can happen and people arent outraged and firebombing churches. Racism was enough to get early Americans to lose their minds and fire bomb churches, but now the standards of fire-bombers has become unattainable by churches, nationwide. Diddling with the congregations children used to be shunned, now its ammunition for a transfer. Its always been amazing to me to see how people respond to seemingly controversial things with a flat, unemotional face. Maybe we as americans are burned out or tired of the onslaught of craziness.
Yes…
- Politicians spend far too much on their sex lives,
- Priests are molesting children, wholesale
- we have been in Iraq for 5 years
- thousands of soldiers have died
- Politics sucks
- the media keeps us apathetic to it all
- People are often involved fighting what they are, deep down, craving the most
- Genocide is a terrible thing
- Being ignorant about the world exempts you from having to worry about any of its events…
Wait… no it doesnt.

Fresh out of class
I wrote a quick post a few days ago about how I really respect instructors that are able to push a student, which some of you may not already know that I have been involved in such a class. The instructor is known for having extremely difficult exams and tons of homework as well as being fast, blazing through material at a pace that would make the oxen in my wagon train catch pneumonia. I am proud to say that not only did I get through the class but that I got through it having learned far more than I had expected.
Our final was moved to Monday morning and I assure you, he pulled no punches. A group final the likes of which no one in the class (12 students made it to the end mind you…) knew how to solve. Of the twelve students, we worked in assorted groups initially; it was rather obvious that things needed to be reworked. After an hour on problem 1, we came together as one large group and we eventually concluded that we were all dumb asses and that is when things got screwy.
All told, the two hour final proved that we all needed to continue forward in math because of the twelve of us collaborating on the four problems none of us got a single problem completely correct. It is sad, yes, but he may have engineered it that way.
