And… then there was spore…

For those who havent already been caught up in the hype, this is perhaps the most well waited game of our decade. Spore is opening the door for gamers into what has, until now, only been realized by evolutionary biologists and Astrophysicists. This game is still a good year out, but it is fucking amazing and now… i am going to be set another goal - i want to learn procedural texturing & animating. Any hints?

Discipline Makes Strong Developers

A long time ago, in my first VB class, I had a thought. I sat in my class of 40 some odd students who all seemed to be struggling with the design of their simple applications wondering why. What the hell is so hard about setting up a form in a manner that is conducive to human interaction and why the hell is this ladies font so god damned big? Our projects seemed to be so much easier for me to finish.

Step One - Solve the apparent problem
Step Two - Build appropriate form to allow interaction
Step Three - Debug as necessary

In His Shoes

there always seems to be someone out there willing to suck it up and take it for the team, bringing up topics like “he shouldn’t be so negative” or “Let them have their beliefs.” Here in the US of A, the saying that seems to ring true is that my rights end when they impose on the rights of another. It is not fair or right for me to step on another man’s toes any more than it is for me to have mine stomped on. The parallel with what we have going on in the world of is this imposing attitude. Everyone with faith wants to save anyone without, or without his own. It is a complete falsehood to say that religions like Islam are not imposing their beliefs upon others, considering their goals of world domination and control; the same is true for Christianity for that matter.
